Today I made a trip to my local meat market...only to find...GASP! They were out of chicken sausage. Luckily, a trip to Kroger was in my future so I got over the fresh sausage and decided I'd see what my store had to offer. I saw a new brand called Gilbert's craft sausage. They had numerous varieties such as bourbon apple and caprese chicken, but I settled on the chicken bratwurst. Boy am I glad that I did, this was absolutely delicious! I couldn't possibly recommend it more! I can't wait to try the rest of the flavors! Have you tried any of their others or have a favorite brand?!? I'd love to hear about it!
Don't get me wrong, I try to eat healthy like the rest of the world, but sometimes it's just too hard! I am always on the lookout for healthy breakfast recipes. Eating a bagel and cream cheese everyday is really bad for the waistline. I recently came across this amazing sounding recipe on food network and can't wait to get my booty to the store for ingredients. I love carrot cake and I love a quick grab-and-go breakfast! This sounds amazing! Healthy Overnight Carrot Cake Oats Toss together these carrot cake-inspired oats at night and wake up to a sweet, healthy fiber- and protein-packed spring breakfast. Recipe courtesy of Food Network Kitchen Total: 6 hr 10 min Active: 10 min Yield: 1 serving Level: Easy HEALTHYIngredients
The night before you want to eat the oats, combine the milk, oats, brown sugar, vanilla, carrots and a pinch of salt in a glass pint jar or other container with a lid. Secure the lid and shake. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or up to overnight. In the morning, top the oats with the coconut, raisins, walnuts and cinnamon. To serve, drizzle with honey if using. Sorry world! I have been in hiatus for quite some time, but I am back. Last weekend, I was able to make a trip to Stache International downtown! I already loved the place, but now they have a full bar! Woot woot! Who doesn't love a cocktail to rinse down their in-house smoked and cured meats!?! I enjoyed the Uncle Jessie and Southern Belle sandwiches and they were both fabulous! I cannot possibly recommend this place more. The food is amazing and it is a wonderful spot to check out after a trip to the Eastern Market or during a Lions tailgate!
